During the visiting artist program at SMP I created a new body of work which references NASA’s 1972 Pioneer 10 space probe and its attempt to someday communicate our whole existence visually to an alien race. I used the Pioneer Plaque as inspiration to create my own pseudo-scientific patterns and shapes that poke fun at the idea of conveying a truly astronomical amount of information.
